What is Wakesurfing?

Wakesurfing is the art of riding the wave created by a moving boat — and once you drop the rope, it's just you and an endless wall of water. Unlike traditional surfing, you don't need to wait for ocean waves or have any prior experience. Our certified instructor is on board every session to guide you from your very first attempt to standing freely and surfing the wake. With a maximum of 6 people aboard, every session is intimate, personal, and genuinely unforgettable.

What to Expect

  1. Arrival — Check in at Balneario de Carolina 10 minutes before your session. Our crew will greet you at the dock and get you ready.
  2. Safety Briefing — Your instructor covers the basics: stance, rope technique, hand signals, and what to do if you fall (hint: just let go).
  3. First Pull — You start with the rope. The boat accelerates gently and pulls you up to a standing position — often faster than you'd expect.
  4. Drop the Rope — Once you feel the wave and find your balance, you drop the rope and surf freely. This is the moment.
  5. Wrap-up — Photos, high-fives and the kind of story you'll be telling for years. 60 minutes on the water, memories that last much longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to surf?

Not at all. Most of our guests try wakesurfing for the very first time. The instructor teaches everything from scratch — stance, how to use the rope, how to read the wave. Zero prior surfing experience required.

How many people are on the boat?

Up to 6 people ride aboard per session, but only 1 person surfs actively at a time. Everyone else gets a front-row seat to cheer you on — and then takes their own turn.

What if I can't get up on my first try?

That's completely normal — and totally expected. Your instructor will coach you continuously throughout the 60 minutes. Most guests are standing and surfing within the first 20 minutes.

Can two people surf in the same session?

Yes. A 2nd active participant can join for an additional $100. The rest of the group rides along on the boat and watches.

What should I wear?

Board shorts or swimwear. Bring a towel and sunscreen. No shoes needed — bare feet is the way to go on a wakesurf board.

Is it safe?

Wakesurfing is done at low boat speeds in calm coastal waters. A life vest is always required for all participants. Our instructors are certified in water safety. Falls are part of the experience — and they're harmless.
