Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Guided Snorkeling and the Snorkeling Tour?

Guided Snorkeling is shore-based — you walk into the water from the beach with an instructor beside you ($89/person). The Snorkeling Tour takes you by boat to deeper reef spots that you can't reach from shore ($89/person). Both include a guide in the water.

Can I snorkel if I'm not a strong swimmer?

Yes — all guided options include a life vest and the instructor stays with you in the water. You don't need to be a strong swimmer for shore-based snorkeling. Basic water comfort is helpful.

Is the gear rental for beginners?

Gear rental is best for people who already know how to snorkel and want to explore on their own. If it's your first time, we recommend a guided option — the breathing technique takes a minute to learn and it's much easier with an instructor.

What will I see underwater?

Tropical fish, sea grass, coral formations and — if you're lucky — sea turtles. Water visibility varies by season and conditions. The reef at Balneario de Carolina is active and well-maintained by the natural ecosystem.

How long can I rent the gear?

As long as you want — gear rental is priced by the hour with no maximum. Just let the team know when you're done.
